One month till unemployment, what now?

As most of you know, my current work contract started out over 18 months ago. I was supposed to be there for a few weeks but I’m still there. Not that I am complaining, but it’s time for a change!
I have been itching to leave this contract, take some time off and start anew. This is the longest contract I’ve had in the history of being a temp. I should be lucky, but the reason I have chosen to be a temp, is so that I can move around more. I do love this job, it’s relaxing and the people are friendly. On busy days, it’s a very interesting job as I see things most people wouldn’t see.
As of right now, if everything lines up, I will be done here a day before I leave for my week long trip to visit friends/family. This means almost 3 weeks longer than I anticipated being done, but at my double hourly wage right now, I am thrilled but also a little panick-y.
I haven’t been as frugal as I’ve wanted lately, which means I have bills to pay that I otherwise wouldn’t have had to pay. I have about 4 paychecks left and really need to start setting some aside.
This is what I plan on doing the next 4 weeks (crunch time!)
*Get more grocery gift cards with my airmiles
*Sell some clothing items on ebay or at the consignment store (I have some great finds!)
*Stock up on non-perishable food items we use a lot: (tofu (we freeze it), soymilk, TVP, Earth Balance Margarine, Bread (we freeze it)…)
*Stock up on more household/pet items when on sale: Cat Litter & Food, toothpaste, toilet paper, hair products…
*Save my free coffees from coffee cards (I have two now as well as a free sushi lunch!)
*Get more zines printed for my Etsy Shop
*Purchase City Bus tickets
*Finally finish paying off my credit card (almost done!)
I already have my $50 Gift Card from the hospital in my wallet (3 of 9 – from being a guinea pig for the operation I got) and about $150 saved up for my trip next month, my plane ticket is already bought and paid for. I also have enough points for another plane ticket and will be saving that for later in the summer.
I plan on taking an entire month off but will let my agency know that I will work 1-2 days if needed for any company needing someone last minute. My Etsy shop will be promoted a little more, I might start advertising a little so I can do Reiki again at home. I don’t plan on being unproductive for a month, I just need to do my own thing for a bit before surrendering to the capitalist monkeys in the corporate world.
Looking forward to some downtime and more frugal adventures. When the pay isn’t coming in, I get a lot more creative!
