Be mindful of your purchases

I was out grocery shopping this weekend (which I really only do about once a month now) and bought a few things to stock up. The woman rang through my stuff faster than I could keep up, so when I got in the car I looked over the receipt and noticed that she charged me TWICE for a $5 item. Of course I went back in and got a refund. But what does this tell you?
ALWAYS look at the cash while the cashier is ringing through your purchases. More often than not, there have been mistakes and I learned the hard way a few years back to always check. Why pay for something you didn’t buy? Or why pay full price for an item which is on sale?
This has nothing to do with being cheap or anal retentive but being mindful. People make mistakes, computers make mistakes and we can’t always trust the total to be correct.
Has this ever happened to you?

Happens to us ALL the time. Especially since we get a lot of “pink tag” items at the grocery store that are marked down 50%
Yep, happens all the time, usually when a sale price doesn’t show up, so if I weren’t paying attention, I’d be paying more. Also I buy from bulk bins a lot, and mistakes get made entering the sku numbers. Gotta pay attention!
