I was going to wait a few weeks before announcing my new blog but I’m pretty excited about it, so I will share it with you today. The thing is, I felt as if I had to separate the fashion/beauty posts from The Frugal Vegan blog. Although some fashion and beauty is frugal, I noticed that I wanted to share a LOT more of that with you lately instead of recipes, animal rights and other relevant topics to this blog. I want to keep The Frugal Vegan true to its roots which began in 2003 in the form of zines.

Truth is, I have changed and noticed that the blog was changing too! I still want to bring you all kinds of frugal ideas, tips and recipes, so don’t worry. You’ll be spared from most of the fashion/beauty fluff as most of you are not here for that purpose.

The new blog is called: 40 PLUS FASHIONISTA: Fashion & Beauty for Young Spirited Women over 40

Of course you don’t HAVE to be 40+ to enjoy the blog but it is aimed at us older ladies who haven’t given up on a fun adventurous life or our looks.

I used Fiverr.com to get my banner done and I was SO PLEASED! I gave the guy 3 photos and some text to place. I told him to do whatever he wanted, as long as the photos and text were in there. So for $5, here is what this sweet guy from Romania designed for me:

I wanted something fresh and simple, so this design was perfect for that purpose. I tried to make one myself but was fighting with GIMP and decided to delete it. I am searching for a simple program to make these types of banners myself. Don’t use GIMP unless you have a lot of time on your hands, the learning curve is steep.

So now The Frugal Vegan will continue its path with less fluffy fashion crap and more crazy rants, cheap recipes, green living ideas and DIY projects.
